Teachers, Doing What They Love!

One of the main challenges for most new teacher is classroom management…..With every new set of students comes a new set of challenges. The key is to find balance and to understand that children are individuals with individual needs. As teachers, we only get  to see is the tip of the iceberg! Under the rest of the iceberg is often anxiety, trauma, depression or fear. Rest assured that no kid is out to get you! Although, it might feel that way! Most of the time their intent is not to make your life difficult or stressful (even though it may seem that way at times); they’re only doing the best they can with what they have. Try to get to know those students who seem to struggle with self control and who are seeking attention in negative ways. If you take 10 minutes every day to make a deep connection with them you will cut your job in half. Children just want to be loved and appreciated, but with the high demands of teaching and all that comes with it, we tend to forget this key detail! My best advice: Don’t take it personal. You have been given the opportunity to make a difference in this child’s life, what imprint do you want to leave him with?
