Individual therapy involves you working with your therapist in a nurturing, safe and confidential setting. You and your therapist will explore the best setting for your sessions and the frequency of your sessions. The options include meeting with your therapist in our beautiful office in Hanford, Walk and Talk Therapy (walking in the downtown area of Hanford) and Telemedicine (Meeting with your therapist via video). Your initial therapy session will include an assessment where your therapist will explore with you the reason you are seeking therapy, your cultural or spiritual practices and your strengths. From the information obtained during your assessment, you and your therapist will develop a therapy treatment plan to identify the areas of your life that you need support with.
You will be nudged to explore your feelings, beliefs, or behaviors, work through challenging or influential memories and identify aspects of your life that you want to change or better understand. Revisiting painful stuff is hard! In therapy, you may initially feel worse before you feel better, but you are already in pain. Your therapist can assist and support you with your pain.
